    Andrew Crawford

Andrew Crawford, a Montana native, has traversed the globe and explored the solar system pursuing his passions. In his twenties, Andrew was a professional snowboarder who was ranked top 10 in the world, competed in the X-Games, and was filmed for movies all over the world. After a decade-long career of international competitions and jumping off cliffs, Andrew hung up his boots at age 31, and enrolled in his local community college, Flathead Valley Community College, to pursue engineering.

While in school, he was awarded a coveted internship with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and subsequently interned with JPL and NASA for the remainder of his collegiate career. Andrew then went on to and graduated from Montana State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and a minor in Aerospace. While at MSU, Andrew was an ambassador and served on the board of the Montana Space Grant Consortium, where he advocated the importance of educating Montana’s students in the STEM fields, speaking at events in Washington DC and China.

While in school, he also worked in MSU’s Space Science and Engineering Laboratory, where he helped launch and then communicate with Montana’s first satellite, HERBIE. After graduation, Andrew was offered a job at X, Google’s research and development “Moonshot Factory”, where he currently works alongside previous NASA engineers developing Google’s self driving cars.
